The very first Antwerp Summer Backgammon Tournament has been crowned a great success! Held at the beautiful Den Bengel on Antwerp's historic Grote Markt, the event brought together players from Belgium and the Netherlands for a day of exciting matches, friendly competition, and great company.

Congratulations to Guy Van Middelem (in the middle), Honorary President of the Belgian Backgammon Federation, who became the inaugural champion by winning 5 out of his 6 matches. Although three other players also finished with an impressive 5 wins out of 6—Cristian Angheluță (Backgammon Club Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands), Kristoffer De Weert (Brussels Backgammon Club), and Onur Chaush (Leuven Backgammon Club)—the final ranking was determined by resistance points, giving Guy the overall victory.

More importantly, the tournament was played in a fantastic atmosphere. Players from both Belgium and the Netherlands enjoyed meeting old friends, making new ones, and strengthening the ties within the backgammon community. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, laughter, and memorable games.

A special thank you goes to Nardy Pillards of Amstergammon for his expert assistance in organizing this tournament. His support was greatly appreciated and contributed significantly to the success of this inaugural event.
